Project Overview

How we completed the restoration

In November 2023, Fibreglaze restored the 10.7 x 5.5 m tiled concrete pool in Slacks Creek, Queensland. The tiled interior had deteriorated and required careful assessment and preparation before conversion to a fibreglass lining.

The deteriorated tiled surface was prepared, and surface irregularities were corrected with resin-based screeding and filler. A new structural fibreglass laminate was installed, and the pool was completed in Dove Grey Speckle using the Fibreglaze Enduratec finishing system.

Work completed

  • Prepared the deteriorated tiled interior for the Fibreglaze Enduratec resurfacing system.
  • Corrected surface irregularities with resin-based screeding and filler.
  • Installed a new structural fibreglass laminate.
  • Applied the Dove Grey Speckle AquaGuard finish.

Degrading Tiles

Loose tiles, eroded grout and cracked tiled areas can allow water behind the finish and create sharp or unstable surfaces. The tiling and substrate must be assessed before removal, repair or encapsulation is selected.

Rough, Stained or Dated

Staining, roughness and an outdated finish can make a sound pool unpleasant to use and difficult to maintain. The underlying cause must be identified before the surface is cleaned, levelled and restored.
