Project Overview

How we completed the restoration

In February 2022, Fibreglaze restored the 8 x 4.2 m fibreglass pool in Inverell, New South Wales. The shell presented with cracking, wall and floor deformation, and a stained, rough or dated finish, requiring careful assessment and structural repair before resurfacing.

The cracked and deformed areas were repaired, and the stained, rough and uneven surface was corrected with resin-based screeding and filler. A new structural fibreglass laminate was installed, and the pool was completed in Sand Speckle using the Fibreglaze Enduratec finishing system.

Work completed

  • Prepared the stained and rough pool surface for the Fibreglaze Enduratec resurfacing system.
  • Repaired cracks where required.
  • Repaired deformed wall and floor areas before resurfacing.
  • Corrected surface irregularities with resin-based screeding and filler.
  • Installed a new structural fibreglass laminate.
  • Applied the Sand Speckle AquaGuard finish.

CLIENT FEEDBACK

What the client said

The best result we could have dreampt of. Amazing, professional service. Great value for money. Repaired what was deemed unrepairable. Don’t consider anyone else for your pool repair or resurfacing. The attached photos were over a less than 48 hours time-frame from what looked hopeless to almost swimming again. Trust me, don’t trust anyone other than Fibreglaze. These guys are simply the best at what they do!

POOL ISSUES

Issues addressed in this pool

These were the main pool conditions recorded for this project. Select an issue to learn more about its common signs, possible causes and repair considerations.

Cracks

Pool cracks range from fine surface crazing to movement-related shell damage. An inspection is needed to identify the crack type, determine whether movement is continuing and select a repair that addresses more than the visible line.

Deformed Shells

Groundwater, lost support or prolonged movement can push a fibreglass floor upward and pull walls inward. Repair requires a detailed inspection of the shell, surrounding ground and the cause of the distortion.

Rough, Stained or Dated

Staining, roughness and an outdated finish can make a sound pool unpleasant to use and difficult to maintain. The underlying cause must be identified before the surface is cleaned, levelled and restored.
